A snack with crunch, punch and so good to munch. Perfect for refuelling when on the go.Tahini takes centre stage again. This is most definitely an ingredient that deserves a permanent place in your pantry for both its flavour and nutrient density.  

Oat & Tahini Bars

Ingredients

100 g (1 cup) dates, pitted

145 g (1 ½ cups) oats, ground

60 ml (¼ cup) tahini

50 g (1 cup) coconut flakes

3 tbsp coconut oil

 

 

Method

Soak the dates in a little hot water for 10 minutes until soft. Discard water.

 

Preheat oven to 180 C.

 

Grind the oats in food processor, add tahini, coconut flakes, oil and dates, one by one until combined.

 

Press into a form and bake for 10 to 20 minutes or until golden. Slice once cooled.
